SEWAK has been implementing the program since October 2010 with in partnership with Lepra Society, Health in Action and District TB Center coordination, Sargipali TB Unit (TU). The program covers the villages under the Sargipali TB Unit area. It works with the objective of sensitizing the community and service providers on the need and measures to speed up recovery from the destructive disease.

SEWAK organizes awareness meetings for village level participants that include members of the Gaon Kalyan Samiti (GKS), TB patients receiving treatment under Direct Observation Therapy (DOT), and community members. It also conducts soft skill trainings for the health staff on subjects like effective communication, conflict resolution, time management, and Teamwork building. Rural health care provider trainings are also conducted for grass-root level workers on ways of referring to symptoms and symbols of a patient to infer a possible case of infection with the TB bacteria. Lately it conducted a training program for five community based organizations, including VDCs and WSHGs who would be provided with financial support for conducting awareness programs and rallies in their locality.

The Sargipali TB unit has five Designated Microscopy Centres (DMCs) for testing sputum samples collected from potential cases. SEWAK with the help of ASHAs operates 20 sputum collection centers in the underserved and un-served areas under the unit.

Two TB forums were constituted under Mangaspur and Sargipali DMC taking service providers and community representatives as members. The forum would develop grounds for better coordination between service system and service providers. Efforts are under way to secure close coordination between ICTC and DMC for promoting cross referral.
